Melanie Wilcox first gained an interest in writing in middle school when she wrote competitively for a group called Power of the Pen. Since then, she has actively pursued writing classes throughout high school and college to improve her writing skills, including screenwriting classes. She holds a BFA in Fibers/Textiles from the Savannah College of Art and Design where she specialized in dye processes, screen printing and pattern design. She also filled her curriculum with a number of art history classes including Egyptian art and New York City art studies. After college, she got her TEFL certificate from a course that focused heavily on grammar.
She enjoys writing what she knows, but she also loves researching new things that interest her. Some of her favorite topics include fashion, beauty, visual arts, health, yoga, and pets, although she is always interested in broadening her horizon.
