2021 was a year of progress and reckoning. We arose from the misfortunes of 2020 with a bit more understanding, willingness, and focus on moving forward, and we are not letting that energy decline.

In 2022, when it comes to well-being, we’re instantaneously going deeper. We are looking innermost and finding new ways to heal and nourish our bodies mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. After a long time of heaping loneliness, we find communities through social media and the internet, which speak to our mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. We also continue to chip away at stigmas and make well-being more accessible to the population. We are looking outside ourselves, and understanding our personal health means nothing if our planet and masses suffer.

In heart, 2022 is the year to ask ourselves: How will we synthesize what we have learned to rebuild a healthier and stronger future for all?

Embracing simplicity

Even before COVID-19, stress was a growing concern, and it feels like the keen level of stress that many of us experienced over the last couple of years has increased. A study from Analytics company Global Data showed that 81% of global consumers consider living a simple lifestyle important in creating a feeling of wellbeing. So it is no surprise that many of us have increased simplicity in these ambiguous times.

Emphasis on sleep

The importance of sleep has long been talked about as necessary for our health, and in 2022 the emphasis on good/ hygienic sleep is still on. Lack of sleep can expose you to Alzheimer’s disease, emotional and mental stability, and poor decision-making. In short, our mental and health suffer if we don’t get the ideal 8 hours a night.

A whole-body approach to wellness

After spending so many months in isolation, many have taken their time to lean into health and self-care. Now more than ever, people are looking into their weight loss and healthy lifestyle approaches that put wellness in the lead. The full-body course, as well as body, mind, and soul, digs deeper into the “why” behind it all and leads to making stronger connections between your health and your habits.

Skin health from inside

One trend is the continued understanding that the skin reflects what is going on inside your body. Our bodies are interconnected, so what’s going on with one organ is directly connected to what’s going on with the other. For instance, the skin may require support through hormone balance and liver optimization to be healthy.

Plant-based diets

Plant-based diets

You will see the plant-based movement becoming more mainstream this 2022, as well as a continued focus on foods that target to support us, like herbs and spices.

Openness about menopause

The discussion about menopause will open up even more, this year_2022. It is no longer a stigma. The United Kingdom is leading the movement with brands and companies offering services, educational content, and products that help women going through menopause.

Devilify mental health for men

Mental health is increasingly becoming a priority for men’s wellness. According to the Mental Health Foundation, 27.9% of UK men admitted that they had not sought medical help for mental health problems compared to 18.7% of women. 2022 is the year to destigmatize men’s mental health as studies have shown that men are three times more likely to commit suicide in Australia, three and a half times more likely in the United States, and four times more likely in Argentina and Russia.
